InfoSAWIT, PONTIANAK - FOLUR grant project is a national project proposed by the Government of Indonesia through Coordinator Ministry in Economy and related ministry and instance that involve Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and United National Development Program (UNDP) with the fund delivered by Global Environmental Fund (GEF). The goal is about to transform food and landscape cultivation system in palm oil, cocoa, coffee, rice – base in Indonesia to get many environmental advantages.
Head of Plantation and Livestock Agency West Kalimantan Province, M. Munsif said, FOLUR project in West Kalimantan Province is funded by the Government of Indonesia through Coordinator Ministry in Economy, National Development Plan Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency, and others, such as, GIZ, FAO, UNDP, and from private sectors, such as, Unilever, Mendelez, Oloan, and NGOs.
"In this province, the location of FOLUR project was stated by Project Steering Committee where it is in District of Sanggau," he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of the agency recently.
For information, FOLUR project would run since February to December 2022 that would focus to many workshops of preparation, discussion of AWP from related ministry/instance, socialization, coordination meeting, pilot project visit, finalization of AWP, inception workshop, project implementation discussion, and coordinator recruits in province or in district.
In national level, there are five provinces to this project with the different food commodities, such as, Aceh for coffee, North Sumatera for palm oil and coffee, West Kalimantan for palm oil, South Sulawesi for paddy and cocoa, and West Papua for palm oil.
There are four components in the project, such as, empowering plan and policy to integrated landscape, implementation of production and supply chain system of sustainable food and plantation commodity, implementation of conservation and restoration model on natural conservation and ecosystem, and reinforcement information cultivation system, monitoring mechanism, and evaluation.
“The meeting about FOLUR grant project was led by Regional Secretary of Sanggau in person. We, Head of Regional Development Plan Agency of Sanggau, those from the central team that delivered description were I Gede Wibawa as National Project Manager and many representatives from UNDP, Coordinator Ministry in Economy, National Development Plan Agency, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture, and other partners,” he said.
