SRP in East Kalimantan: Covers 2.240 Hectares in 2 Districts

InfoSAWIT, SAMARINDA – In the socialization of smallholders replanting program (SRP), Provincial Government of East Kalimantan through its Plantation Agency would conduc about 2.240 hectares in two districts, they are, Kutai Kartanegara and Paser in 2022.

Head of Plantation Agency East Kalimantan Province, Ujang Rachmad said, the targets would cover 2.000 hectares in District of Paser and 240 hectares in District of Kutai Kartanegara.

He also mentioned the socialization was about to inform the planters (smallholders) about SRP according to the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture Number 3 / 2022 about Human Resource Development, Research and Development, Replanting, and Infrastructures in Palm Oil Plantation.

The information delivered were about the mechanism to distribute SRP helps, the condition needed, institutions, and development for those who implement SRP which Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) would support the fund.

The socialization was attended by them from the two districts, the team of proposing SRP, and some districts/city which did not propose it, such as Berau, Penajam Paser Utara, Kutai Barat, Kutai Timur, and City of Samarinda.

"From the socialization, we hope, non-proposed districts would get the information about SRP and they would get the same advantages in the next years,” Ujang said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of East Kalimantan Plantation Agency.

He continued, SRP runs for the smallholders’ trees are old and not productive anymore. “By SRP, the smallholders’ plantations would get more fresh fruit bunch to welfare them,” Ujang said. (T2)
