InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Prior many regents that joined in Asosiasi Kabupaten Penghasil Sawit Indonesia (AKPSI) urged the central government to get retribution Rp 25/Kg from every fresh fruit bunch (FFB) selling. It was told in the first meeting of AKPSI in Jakarta, Saturday (16/7/2022).
What the regents wanted was directly responded by Chairman of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) North Sumatera, Alexander Maha and Chairman of IPOA West Sumatera, Bambang Wiguritno. The two confirmed, the idea would not happen because FFB is still cheap. “Please do not burden the smallholders,” Alexander Maha told to InfoSAWIT through phone, Monday (18/7/2022).
He thought, the smallholders’ FFB would be much cheaper if the citation would be taken about Rp 25/kg.
Though the government temporarily revoked CPO export citation, he continued, what AKPSI demanded would make the stakeholders and the smallholders get more pressed. The provincial governments also asked for profit sharing from the plantation. “What is the regulation (to get Rp 25/kg)? They have to see the regulations first, and we would obey and do it,” Alex said. (T5)
