Luhut: Regional Governments Should Support Palm Oil Audit

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Coordinator Minister in Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said, palm oil industries are strategic ones because more than 16,4 million men live and work in these industries. These industries are one of the biggest export providers.

As part of palm oil industrial enhancement, President Joko Widodo instructed to get governance audit and improve what they need.

Pandjaitan asked for the regional governments to cooperate with Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan (BPKP) to succeed the audit. “Namely about data and information which are needed in the audit,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT recently.

Chairman of Asosiasi Kabupaten Penghasil Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (AKPSI), Yulhaidir mentioned their supports to the government in palm oil industrial audit.

"We support what BPKP would do in the audit and would coordinate with district government,” he said.

For information, in the meeting of palm oil plantation audit in Indonesia, AKPSI also handed over the data needed to accelerate the governance audit. (T2)
