IPOA West Sumatera: Stakeholders are Awry

InfoSAWIT, PADANG – Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) West Sumatera Province thought, many policies that the government published may not be synchronized and made fresh fruit bunch (FFB) get cheaper.

Chairman of IPOA West Sumatera, Bambang Wiguritno told, what the government published raised uncertainty. Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, as it seemed, would not reduce the numbers of crude palm oil (CPO) Out Fee, and levy which Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) collected.

The government also published citation called ‘flush out’ which is US$ 200 per ton of crude palm oil (CPO) to the stakeholders that want to do CPO export.

This condition, Bambang continued, impacts to the smallholders’ FFB because the burdens from the government to the stakeholders should be burdened to the smallholders when purchasing their FFB.

“No mill wants to get loss. Of course, they would burden to the smallholders. This is the end, isn’t it? This is the trigger,” he said to InfoSAWIT, Monday (11/7/2022).

Bambang continued, the stakeholders have no good position to know this condition. If seeing the circulars published by Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yassin Limpo that suggested the mills to purchase smallholders’ FFB at Rp 1.600/kg, it is impossible.

“If CPO is Rp 6.000 per kg, how to buy FFB at Rp 1.600/kg,” he questioned. (T5)
