Palm Oil Citation is Returned to Escalate Productivity

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Head of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Fee Collection, Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA), Ahmad Munir said, the low plantation productivity by the smallholders impacted to their welfare.

He continued, PFMA delivered solution that the smallholders replanting program (SRP) program is funded for the smallholders from palm oil citation. This is about to escalate their plantation productivity and welfare them.

The fund which had been collected and managed by PFMA was distributed both in SRP, infrastructures, scholarship, and others. “The impact is the stable fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price, escalate their welfare, develop sustainable palm oil industries,” Munir said in webinar and live streaming “Dampak Positif Program PSR, Sarpras dan Pengembangan SDM Bagi Petani Sawit”, which InfoSAWIT joined in Jakarta.

He continued, supporting their plantation productivity is by implementing SRP massively. The goal is to help independent smallholders to improve theirs more sustainable, qualified, and minimize the risks of new planting illegally.

There are some principles to notice about SRP, such as, the first, the legal issue – the independent smallholders that take part in the program should follow the legal aspect.

The second, the productivity – the standard productivity in SRP should be about 10 tons of FFB per hectare within the density less than 80 tress per hectare.

He continued, Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) for the smallholders should be got to make sure the sustainability principles. The participants of the program should get ISPO certificate in the first harvest,

“The sustainability principle means the sustainability is implemented from the start to the end. The end goal is also to escalate their welfare,” Munir said. (T2)
