InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Biodiesel as alternative fuel to count on, plays strategic roles for having the positive impacts in many aspects. Biofuel that derives from renewable sources delivers additional values through agricultural downstream in this country, stabilizing crude palm oil (CPO) price, and increasing the smallholders’ welfare.

Palm oil biodiesel is believed to produce less green-house gas than fossil fuel, reduces imports of fuel, saves the exchange and trade balance, provides kinds of jobs, and secures energy security.

“We believe, palm oil biodiesel needs will be more. The markets would be too,” Minister of Energy and Mineral Resource, Arifin Tasrif said in Yogyakarta in the late of March 2022.

But he continued, palm oil industrial development should not have some issues with food, woof, fertilizer, massive new planting issues that could damage the environment. (T2)
