Palm Cooking Oil Should be Distributed not only in Java

Palm Cooking Oil Should be Distributed not only in Java

InfoSAWIT, DONGGALA – Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) emphasized, daily needs distribution should not be in Java only. He thought, daily needs distribution should cover every region in Indonesia.

He said that when visiting Pasar Toaya, District of Donggala, Central Sulawesi Province, Wednesday (29/6/2022). From the official statement that InfoSAWIT got, his visit was about to confirm palm cooking oil is at the highest retail price (HRP) at Rp 14.000 per liter, as the government regulated.

“I was from Jakarta at 2 a.m and arrived in Donggala in the down to make sure that palm cooking oil is at HRP or more expensive,” Minister Zulhas said.

He officially inaugurated three traditional markets which the center was in Pasar Toaya. He discussed with the sellers and knew that palm cooking oil is stable, at Rp 14.000/liter.

“After directly seeing at Pasar Toaya  I am happy that it is at HRP. But the branded packages are different, based on the economic values. One thing for sure, the government confirmed, cheap bulk palm cooking oil would always be available for the people,” he said.

At Pasar Toaya, he found that the sellers are creative to package bulk palm cooking oil in plastic bottles. It was old at Rp 14.500 per liter. Rp 500 from HRP is only the cost to package in plastic bottle.

“Rp500 is the price of the bottle while palm cooking oil is still Rp 14.000/liter. In order not to get more burden, the sellers should prepare their own package. The government would prepare simple packaged palm cooking oil in standards but the selling price should be remaining at Rp 14.000 per liter. It is ‘Minyakita’,” he said.
