InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – To support palm oil plantation sector as one strategic commodity nationally, Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) keeps joining some exhibitions in food and agribusiness sectors as part of Kick Off Events with the theme, “Pangan Indonesia untuk Dunia yang Lebih Baik (Indonesian Food for a Better World)” and the sub theme “Pangan Nusantara” at Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, Wednesday (22/6/2022).

"In the event, PFMA took palm oil products which could be the sources of food and help to escalate the world better welfare,” Director in duty of Partnership PFMA, Kabul Wijayanto said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Saturday (27/6/2022).

The event was held by Coordinator Ministry in Economy and directly inaugurated by Minister Airlangga Hartarto.

In the morning, the event started by Karnaval Panen Raya that showed many mainstay food products and taken in eight mountains procession within Red-White Troops, marching band, and puppets.

The Kick Off Events “Pangan Nusantara” was attended by Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasamita; Minister of Maritime and Fishery, Minister of Cooperation and Small and Medium Business, Teten Masduki; Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate; Vice Minister of Trade, Jerry Ssambuaga.

There were also representatives of other embassies, DKI Jakarta, directors of Enterprises, Regional Enterprises, private sectors, associations, academy, and about 75 micro, small, and medium business, and the partners.

Deputy of Food and Agribusiness Coordination, Coordinator Ministry in Economy, Musdhalifah Machmud said, the support to G20 Presidency should deliver advantages and maximize the available chances to increase the people’s economy in Indonesia, namely in food and agribusiness sectors.

She also mentioned, food security is nowadays issue globally and palm oi is one commodity to realize United Nations’ goal, sustainable development goal. It plays important roles to provide sources of food in the world both directly and indirectly and would always play important roles to face the challenges.

“Palm oil is mostly advantaged to be palm cooking oil. It is one processed product from crude palm oil which many know and is consumed by the people in Indonesia and in the globe,” she said.

For the people of Indonesia, palm cooking oil is one of daily needs. “The massive palm cooking oil consumption in Indonesia is because the people’s eating habit should be by deep frying,” Musdalifah said. (T5)
