InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – Knowing what palm oil industries face nationally, 152 regents where palm oil plantations grow agreed to establish Asosiasi District of Penghasil Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (APKPSI).
After the establishment, hundreds of regents directly asked for Minister of Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan to be the Advisor of APKPSI.
"Insya Allah on 16 July 2022, President Joko Widodo would inaugurate the coordinators and Pandjaitan as our advisor. It would be in Jakarta,” Regent of Labuhanbatu Selatan (Labusel), H. Edimin said to InfoSAWIT by phone, Tuesday (21/6/2022).
For information, in APKPSI, Edimin is the II Chairman, while the Chairman is Yus Haidar (Regent of Seruyan, Central Kalimantan), General Secretary is H Kamsol (Regent of Kampar, Riau), and Treasurer is H Windu Subagio (Regent of Sukamara, Central Kalimantan).
The coordinators of APKPSI met Pandjaitan in person to ask for his will to be their advisor. The meeting was taking place in the office of Ministry of Maritime and Investment in Jakarta, Tuesday (14/6/2022) lalu.
When meeting Pandjaitan, the regents asked for the central government to notice more the regions where palm oil plantations grow.
APKPSI also urged the central government to improve and make a better regulation about palm oil governance nationally and it would be more maximal to be the source of exchange.
Besides improving the regulations, APKPSI believed, palm oil plantations would deliver better advantages for the development and would escalate the people’s welfare where they grow.
“APKPSI was established to unite the same perception of regents where palm oil plantations grow to understand what palm oil industries faced in the late days. Crude palm oil is getting cheaper and it impacts to the smallholders,” Edimin said. (T5)
