The Plan of East Kalimantan RAD KSB Has Been Published in 2022

InfoSAWIT, SAMARINDA – East Kalimantan Province is preparing to implement Rencana Aksi Daerah Kelapa Sawit Berkelanjutan (RAD KSB).

Daily Chairman of Forum Komunikasi Perkebunan Berkelanjutan (FoKSBI), Yus  Alwi Rahman said, since 2020 his side started preparing to arrange the regulation about RAD KSB in East Kalimantan.

To socialize it, FoKSBI did series of focus group discussion (FGD) with many agencies, involved multi-side partners to arrange and design RAD KSB East Kalimantan.

Yus Alwi admitted, it is not easy thing to make the same perception to improve palm oil plantation governance based on RAN KSB. That is why it needs continuous communication in provincial level.

Actually, he continued, this could be like the master plan and the implementation would be getting input from regional level. Yus Alwi said, there should be points between RAN KSB and activity to be implemented in the regions because the regions would execute the activity.

The other issues happened were when discussing about palm oil, the aim was plantation agency. He thought, palm oil plantation cultivation in the landscape involves many sides and agencies.

In simple, when palm oil plantation issue hits forest region issue, plantation agency will not be discussing the issue itself because it has to take the other agency, such as, environmental agency. That is why it needs the same and equal understanding among the agencies.

“Many thought palm oil cultivation is handled by plantation agency in every district but palm oil governance should be conducted among agencies,” he recently said to InfoSAWIT.

RAD KSB East Kalimantan itself, he continued, is in progress about the draft. Based on the prediction in the first semester of 2022, it is hoped, it would be published as regional regulation and could immediately publish regional execution team. (T2)
