To Monitor Smallholders’ FFB Price, Minister of Agriculture Established Price Monitoring Taskforce

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL)officially announced to every governor, regent, and mayor where palm oil plantatioins grow to monitor fresh fruit bunch (FFB) price produced by both independent and plasma smallholders.

In the official documents published on Thursday (9/6/2022), SYL mentioned, the documents are published to follow up what Coordinator Minister of Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan instructed in the coordination meeting on 7 June 2022 about bulk palm cooking oil progress.

That is why as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official documents, SYL mentioned, there are some things for every head of region should notice in palm oil centers.

“The first, to monitor FFB price produced by the smallholders, Ministry of Agriculture established Monitoring Taskforce for Smallholders’ FFB Price, and involved head of agency in plantation in the province level,” the notes in the official document said.

SYL also mentioned, the taskforce would have five functions, such as, supervise FFB price produced by the planters, do monitoring and supervise planters’ FFB purchase/absorption by the mills.

“Monitor and supervise the execution of governor’s regulation as the follow up of the Regulation of Minister of Agriculture (RMA) Number 1 / 2018 about Fresh Fruit Bunch Purchase Price Decision Guidelines produced by Smallholders,” SYL said.

It needs to accelerate the governor’s regulation arrangement as the follow up of RMA Number 1 / 2018 and the last, it would function to develop the business permit for plantation companies which have mills.

Besides, SYL continued, he also urged the heads of regions to encourage crude palm oil (CPO) export activity to get FFB produced by the smallholders at more than Rp 3.000/kg.

The head of regions should make or strengthen planters’ institutions and facilitate partnership between planters and the mills.

He also urged the heads of regions to encourage every mill in the regions which are integrate with palm cooking oil industries to register in Sistem Informasi Minyak Goreng Curah (SIMIRAH) application at www.simirah.kemenperin.go.id published by Ministry of Industry. (T5)
